When preparing for your big day, it is very easy to want anything beautiful and unique to be included. Of course, it is all possible if we have the money to do them. Before the process of wedding planning starts, it is important to know exactly how much you are willing to spend for your wedding.
It may be good to talk to a few more vendors, service providers to understand more of their payment terms. This will give you a very good picture of the cashflow you are looking at throughout this wedding. In most Singapore weddings, the major part of the expenses come from the wedding banquet itself. It can cost between a few thousands to tens of thousands, depending on the scale of your wedding. While the bulk of this cost is ‘recoverable’ via cash gifts, it is also advisable for the couple to also talk about what is the amount that they are comfortable with, to be classified under ‘possibly loss’ from the banquet. Some couples can recover the full cost through the cash gifts, some partial. For the latter group, it is important that you have the cash to cushion off this amount to avoid going into debts.
Here, we list out some of the things that you are expected to spend money on for your wedding. This is just a typical list and will differ from couple to couple:
Photographer and/or videographer
Make-up artists
Bridal gowns, suits and/or gowns and suits for parents of both sides
Flowers
Decoration (Candy/dessert bar, general decoration)
Bridal car rental
Transport arrangement for families and/or friends
Banquet
Angbao for entourage & all helpers
